With Veterans Day almost here, this conversation is particularly timely and troubling – it’s about Veterans’ medical debt.
How do veterans in this country have medical debt? With all of the ways we seek to thank and support those who gave service to our country – and especially with the VA health services – how can they accrue medical bills that turn into debt?
That’s what I asked Col. (Ret.) Mikel Burroughs. Among many other roles – and after, as you’ll hear, 42 years, 8 months, 23 days of service, including 37 years of active duty, guard, reserve, and deployment duty – Mikel is Director of Military Debt Acquisitions and Relief for RIP Medical Debt.org.
Enjoy the conversation.
